This week I enjoyed listening to Mrs. Z talk to our class. She had so much good advice and it is always nice to hear other teachers say the same things as my education professors. One thing that she said that made me think was when she told us that she told her students she had been teaching already for 2 years. I think as a first year teacher I will probably tell my students I have been teaching for one year, having in mind my block and student teaching, but what I really thought about was my age. When I begin teaching I will have just turned 21 and I am not sure if I would want my students to know that. If I were teaching students in the 11th grade they would only be about 4 to 5 years younger than me. Maybe this isn’t that strange but something about it makes me think I will probably add a few years to my age if a students ever asks. The other part I most enjoyed was her lesson plans. I really hope to be that organized in the future and keep up with my lesson plans. I really like the way she put the ones she was using in a binder.
